We do provide short-term and long-term care for residents, with the goal of only having patients here as long as they need before they are healthy and strong enough to return home.
Skilled nursing care comes in a wide range of services, activities, and medical care. This can include physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language therapy, specialty feeding, medication management, wound care, intravenous (IV) therapy, injections, pain management, and other qualifying services.
Medicare does cover services provided at a skilled nursing facility, but it does depend on the specifics of your Medicare plan. Please consult with your Medicare coverage specialist to get the most accurate and current information.
GCRC provides care 24 hours a day. There is always a licensed nurse available and the doctor is always on call.
We recommend approximately five changes of clothing and a pair of comfortable rubber-soled shoes. All clothing must be labeled. All articles should be washed, clearly labeled with the resident’s name in permanent ink and entered into the patients’ personal inventory log upon admission. Other personal items should be marked or engraved for identification. We advise that patients do not keep valuable jewelry or large amounts of cash in the facility– nothing more than $20.
Patients may have a leave of absence only with MD authorization, which can be arranged through the nursing staff. The resident or responsible party, upon arrival and departure, must sign the Leave of Absence (LOA) book, which is located at the nursing stations.
We do not have set visiting hours, however we recommend 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. as the ideal time to visit. There is no need to register an appointment.
